RNR proprietor Rex Nguyen has been a restorer of specialty premium automobiles for nearly two decades. Originally focusing on tuner cars in the 1990s with the well-known Sprewell Motorsports, Rex transitioned to sales and customizing of late-model Ferraris and other exotics during an extended stint at Exclusive Motorcars, one of Los Angeles’ most prestigious independent highline brokerages.
Eventually learning the trade of classic car restoration, Rex now specializes in vintage Ferraris, routinely earning some of the niche’s most esteemed awards. He is also well versed in most other Italian marques, including Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lamborghini and Maserati, and has occasionally worked on prewar European classics. In 2014 Rex founded Rex Nguyen Restorations, the culmination of years of work, and the ideal platform to dedicate himself to the needs of his clients’ cars. The first car that completed refurbishment at RNR, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, notably won the Excellence Award for Best Restoration at the 2015 Cavallino Classic. Joining numerous other accolades recognizing Rex’s work from such esteemed venues as Pebble Beach, FCA events, and other major concours d’elegance, the Cavallino award demonstrates RNR’s meticulous attention to detail and rigorous pursuit of period Maranello standards. |
